In a 10-year period, the draft produced:

  • 263 Pro Bowlers (48% drafted in the first round)
  • 648 regular starters (50% drafted in the first 50 spots)
  • 911 reliable contributors (51% drafted in the first 75 spots)

Breaking it down more specifically than that, each draft class found:

  • 23-29 Pro Bowlers per class, with a median and mean of 26 per year
  • 56-72 regular starters per class, with a median and mean of 65 starters each year.

By the end of Round 3, only 2/5 of selections have been made but 3/4 of all regular starters have been found. Of the 1501 picks from Round 4 to Round 7

  • Only 10% (153) became regular starters with 40+ starts
  • Less than a quarter (340) became reliable contributors playing in 60+ games

As far as distribution, of the 320 individual draft classes by teams:

  • 23 times, the team did not find a starter
  • 78 times, the team found only a single starter
  • 117 times, the team in question found 2 regular starters
  • 79 times, the team found three starters
  • 17 times, the team found four starters
  • 6 times, the team found five starters
